City Sivarai is the official news publication of the National Capital District Commission (NCDC) of Papua New Guinea (PNG). In print, you will find us each month as a free insert in one of the daily newspapers. We also have an online presence in the form of a website – which is how you found us now.

What is Sivarai?
Sivarai, pronounced siv-a-rye, comes from the Motu language, the traditional language of the original owners and inhabitants of the National Capital District. Sivarai means what it is – the news. So we are the City news. The City Sivarai. By the way, we have a regular Learn Motu section in our monthly magazine. Each month we feature some key words and phrases that will impress your Motuan friends.
NCDC also recognises and acknowledges the Motu Koitabu people as the original owners and inhabitants of the land on which the national capital of Port Moresby stands.
